Bandits Honor the Late Royal Galipeau with a Moment of Silence

This week’s loss of former Orléans MP Royal Galipeau was felt deeply in the Cumberland Bandits.  The Bandits have always had strong associations with all the local elected officials and Mr. Galipeau was one of the first to give the Bandits that must needed voice in order to help us help our community.

Mr. Galipeau never declined one invitation to our events and he even represented us at many events such as when we gave scholarships to local students.   “I remember M. Galipeau attending an on ice event for us at Ray Friel when he had just had treatments the day before.  Not only did he come to our even that evening but it was his second of three the same night.   I was a truly great man, and Ottawa-Orléans will miss his leadership and I his friendship”, said Rick Bédard owner of the Bandits

The Bandits observed a moment of Silence led by Cumberland Minor Hockey District Chair Tim MacPherson who said a few words prior to the Puck Drop against the Blackburn Inferno.  Our condolensces go out to the Galipeau family.  Que Dieu vous bénisse M. Galipeau.
