Bandits Take First Matchup Against Inferno 6-1
Saturday night at Ray Friel the Inferno and the Bandits met for the first time in league play. The Bandits came out on top 6-1 in a game that saw a lot of good skating and hard play.
“This was an important game for us. We have a lot of friends and former teammates that now play for Blackburn but we still have to go out there to win. It was great to see Coach Pierre again he’s a great friend to all of us and we respect him a lot” said Bandits Assistant Captain Nezz Bédard of Pierre Thibaudeau.
Thibaudeau a long-time supporter of the Bandits and it’s head coach the last two seasons left the Bandits last year to start the Inferno. “We couldn’t be more please that Pierre is now an owner in our league. He has been a big part of the Bandits success both on and off the Ice and he has already started making a difference in the Blackburn community with his Inferno” Said Bandits owner Rick Bédard.
The Bandits took a 2-0 lead in the first and controlled most of the game. Danny Thibaudeau was very strong in nets or the score would have been much higher. The Inferno were playing without their two-top defensemen and a few of their top forwards.
The Bandits get Sunday off and will next play a home game against the Metcalfe Jets on Saturday November 25th at 7:30, followed by a game in Morrisburgh against the Lions on Sunday afternoon 2:30 start.
